Croatia beat Brazil on penalties to advance to semi-finals – NewsNaija.com.ng


Dominik Livakovic saved Rodrygo’s first penalty and Marquinhos hit the put up to provide Croatia a 4-2 shootout win over Brazil on Friday after their World Cup quarter-final ended 1-1.

After 90 scoreless minutes, Brazil took a 1-0 lead due to some solo magic from Neymar in further time, however fierce Croatia refused to surrender, Bruno Petkovic equalizing within the 117th minute to ship the combat to penalties.

Croatia now await the winner of Argentina and the Netherlands, who conflict afterward Friday.
