The Lagos State Police Command says a theft suspect was shot lifeless in Oshodi space whereas his gang was exchanging gunfire with policemen.
Police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident on Thursday.
Mr Hundeyin mentioned the incident occurred on December 24 at 3:00am on the Akinpelu-Oshodi highway.
He mentioned the anti-robbery operatives of the Akinpelu Police Division encountered the theft gang throughout a cease and search operation.
The spokesman mentioned that the suspected armed robbers, seeing the police, opened hearth on them, to which the policemen who have been in a superb place for the operation instantly returned hearth.
Mr Hundeyin mentioned one of many suspects was killed through the shootout, whereas the opposite two sustained bullet accidents and managed to flee.
He mentioned that efforts are being made to arrest the fleeing suspects, and appealed to residents and well being employees to report back to the police anybody who finds bullet wounds.
Police mentioned a regionally made pistol, an Elepaq generator and 15 laptop UPSs have been recovered from the suspect.
